The "indent ornaments" or "reflector ornaments" used to be popular in mid-century Christmas decor (1940s-1960s). They have a pressed-in, cone-shaped hollow designed to catch and reflect tree lights. The hand-foiled details echo the design and shine of these traditional reflectors, creating a sparkle and shimmer as the card moves.

About this technique: These vintage bauble designs started as fountain pen drawings in black and white. The layers were separated digitally to create the possibility of foiling while keeping their hand drawn quality.
